Function of Job
Under
administrative supervision from a designated administrator, to be responsible for
the management of aircraft maintenance facilities, including repair, avionics,
and stores operations.
Characteristic
Duties and Responsibilities
1. supervises and directs aircraft maintenance, inspection, and stores staff, including employee selection, training and discipline
2. develops purchase specifications and
recommends facility purchases for equipment and supplies
3. plans
and enforces aircraft inspection standards and procedures to ensure compliance
with federal aviation regulations
4. approves aircraft component or unit
inspections prior to release and ensures inspections are documented in
compliance with federal aviation agency regulations
5. coordinates inspection schedules for
aircraft
6. coordinates facility work orders for
avionics and aircraft maintenance personnel
7. maintains required federal aviation agency files, including specifications, certification data, manuals, services bulletins, and regulations
8. performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum
Acceptable Qualifications
CREDENTIALS TO BE
VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
1. seven years of responsible technical
experience in aircraft and engine repair
2. three years of supervisory and
administrative experience
3. valid current federal aviation agency
airframe and powerplant mechanical license
4. possession of valid current federal aviation
agency inspection authorization
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES NEEDED TO UNDERTAKE JOB

knowledge of aircraft powerplant and airframe
maintenance, logs, and records
2. extensive
knowledge of federal aviation agency regulations pertaining to aircraft
airworthiness, aircraft inspections, and avionics and aircraft repair
